Who Chllgly is for

Chllgly is an 18+ platform. Everyone who creates an account confirms they are at least 18 years old. We use age gates and, where appropriate, date-of-birth verification to enforce this.

What we moderate — and how

Under Section 230 of the US Communications Decency Act, online platforms are generally not treated as the publisher of user-submitted content. We rely on the "notice-and-takedown" model plus voluntary moderation under Section 230(c)(2), the "Good Samaritan" provision that lets us remove or filter content in good faith without becoming legally liable for what we haven't removed.

In practice: every submission and comment runs through an automated content scorer. Anything that looks risky goes to a human moderator queue. Users can report content they think crosses a line — reports go to the same queue. We publish an audit log of every moderator action so review decisions are accountable.

Zero tolerance — removed regardless of any toggle

These categories are removed on sight and accounts posting them are permanently banned:

  • Child sexual exploitation or content sexualizing minors
  • Non-consensual sexual content ("revenge porn," upskirt shots, hidden-camera nudity)
  • Bestiality
  • Necrophilia
  • Commercial sexual services (escort ads, pay-for-sex arrangements)
  • Credible threats of violence or self-harm targeting a real person
  • Content that would violate US federal criminal law, IP/copyright law, or the federal sex-trafficking statutes (FOSTA-SESTA)

These are the standard exceptions to Section 230 immunity, so we don't have the option to be lenient here even if we wanted to be.

Adult and sensitive content — allowed with labels + opt-in

Adults sharing legal adult content between consenting adults is permitted, provided all of the following are true:

  • Consent: everyone depicted has consented to the recording and distribution.
  • Labeling: the creator marks the challenge or submission as "sensitive." Labeled content renders behind a blur warning that only viewers who have (a) confirmed 18+, (b) provided a date of birth, and (c) enabled sensitive content in Settings can tap through.
  • Restricted zones: sensitive content never appears in profile photos, banners, thumbnails, the /explore hero, or any part of the app that a new-visitor sees before opting in.

Physical challenges — do them safely

Chllgly hosts skill and fitness challenges (push-ups, planks, pull-ups, timed runs, and similar). By participating in a physical challenge you agree that:

  • You are physically able to safely attempt the activity. If you're unsure, talk to a doctor or qualified professional before you start.
  • You take part at your own risk. Chllgly is not a coach, trainer, or medical provider, and the platform makes no warranty that any activity is safe for you specifically.
  • You will stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath, and you will not train or compete around traffic, water, heights, or any environment where a fall or fatigue could injure you or others.
  • Challenges that call for reckless behavior, dangerous stunts, or activity you are not qualified for are removable content under our zero-tolerance section above.

If we get it wrong

Content decisions are made by humans and imperfect models. If you think something was removed unfairly, or should have been removed and wasn't, use the "…" report control on the content. Every report opens a ticket a moderator reviews. Repeat false reports can affect your account, and abusive reporters can be rate-limited or banned.

Money on Chllgly is between users, not against the house

Chllgly is a skill-based contest platform, not a gambling operator. Prize dollars move between users under our escrow system. We are not a bookmaker; we do not set odds; the house does not take a position.
